Hellzero Posted September 8, 2020 Posted September 8, 2020 I ordered two sets of Fodera AJT28125 by Lord of the Strings in the Netherlands on the 19th of August 2020. I just tried to fit them today and in the two sets the A strings are completely dead (no harmonic at all, sounding like 10 years old strings) and even worse, the D string in one set has been more than badly wound (see pictures) ! At 82,60 Euros per set, it's a shame that there's absolutely no quality control. I've been using Fodera strings for years and it's the first time this happens ! I'm waiting for their reply and the one from Fodera... Quote
Baloney Balderdash Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 (edited) Fodera did nothing wrong! That there is a very special custom set for experiemntal musicians doing prepared bass stuff. They call it the "Ab/D - F [major] ck U p" set. All they did wrong was packaging it as an "Anthony Jackson Signature Strings" set, but I am sure he wouldn't mind. Hellzero Posted September 9, 2020 Author Posted September 9, 2020 Carl at Lord of the Strings has sent me 3 new Fodera strings immediately. I call this impeccable service ! 👍 1 Quote
Rich Posted September 9, 2020 Posted September 9, 2020 Just checked their website. Even with postage added, they still undercut Strings Direct on Elixir 5-string sets. Methinks I will give them a try. Quote
paulo m Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 I bought five sets of Fodera Nickel's 45 - 105 & I found them to be of an excellent quality & long lasting with even tone' & bright fundamentals... If I got dud strings from ANY manufacturer & I have had.... They go back... The only company I've had bad service from was D'ddarrio the rep I spoke to was a complete A-hole & very uncooperative.
