Help/advice needed on effect pedals

Hi, I’ve been playing on and off for years and been on here silently years too. Now the problem I have is I’ve never really used effects before.
I’m now in a kick derrière 3 piece and really wanna sort my Sound out. But..... I have literally no idea what I need or how to power them all up (what power supply do I need?). I’m guessing I would benefit from a compressor pedal but apart from the obvious synth/chorus/fuzz etc effects what staple pedals would I benefit from?

 Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Zoom B1- four multi effects. Cheap as chips and has all the effects you need. Even if you move on to individual effects pedals afterwards it’s a great tool to experiment and find out what you’ll use.

That zoom recommendation is spot on just to try out different effects and see what works for you. Crazy value..

Yeah I’ve looked into it. It sounds the biz from the reviews on YouTube. Probably gonna get one I think
