That's what the word palindrome specifically means! This logo is not spelt or read the same backwards as forwards. But it is an ambigram. Take your correction, God knows you like to dish out corrections enough! This man speaks the truth. 1 Quote

Bassassin Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 While you're all bickering over semantics, let's agree it reads 'WL', because it does. Interesting design, intended to read the same inverted, & just happens to be embossed on a component that can be fitted inverted. 2 Quote
Hellzero Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 There was this brand named Whale, could it be it ? Quote
itu Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 A bit like Musima, but the Phillips screws are too modern. 1 3 Quote
lemmywinks Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Because the logo is stylised and probably meant to be flipped and read the same as normal (an ambigram as previously described) it could be IM, IML, WI, WL, INI or INL depending on how you interpret it. Not that it make any difference here of course! Any frontal shots? Quote

So, early/mid 80s, pre-unification East Germany. A slightly more interesting/cool P copy than I expected. Seen loads of these either unbranded or rebranded, but never seen one with a Musima logo before. Would have saved a bit of time & head-scratching if I had! Still have no idea why the Musima logo reads "WL" though... 5 3 1 Quote

yonni Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 It looks like the model is called an Action bass. There’s one in reverb for £211 Musima Action Bass Quote

I messaged and about 3 days later I chased again, “sorry I’ve had lots of interest... you’re nowhere near first in line” - of course. Ah well, it was an interesting little mystery Quote

Richard R Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 These ID threads are genuinely fascinating. Like Silent Witless, thankfully without the murder and usually with less decomposition of the body, but in the same way that tiny clues reveal the truth. 1 Quote
