OldGit
Hi I was thinking of replacing the guitar cables etc I use for my effects to rack linking with this 2 or 4 way cable from Maplins. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Module...14&doy=15m3 This is to speed up setting up and breaking down and also clearing up the cable clutter on stage .. Does anyone use it? Is it likely to compromise my sound? Should I just invest in George L's?
escholl
what about using the cables you already use, wrapped in something like this?

How many ways do you need and how long? What would the benefit be of George L's over what you already have?
OldGit
I don't think that 4-way cable will be robust enough to stand being trampled on on-stage. The George Ls are very thin and will roll up tiny which is why they are an option. However I still have the problem of holding them together.. The cables I have running from the rack back to the front of the stage are - Wireless to pedals, pedals to amp, MB channel switch cable (stereo jack plugs, Dave you made me one before). I leave everything plugged in within the rack so I can just pull out the cables and plug things in to the pedals. I haven't seen how it bends but I suspect the cable wrap thing won't roll up small enough or enjoy the constant rolling and unrolling. Then there's the 9v footpedal power as well but as I have to power my monitor and fan at the front of the stage that's less of an issue . Here's a pic: Red cable is the foot switch cable, two black cables with Velcro ties on the right are the send and return Thanks OG
escholl
I used to work at maplin and tbh none of their cables would be up to the task. Some decent quality mulit-core ought to do it though, such as here. I'm sure obbm can sort something out for you along those lines. EDIT: Sorry, should have linked here. Edited March 16, 2009 by escholl
