Løchte Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Hello BCs I bought this trace Elliot 10 years ago. I was told it was a prototype, build before the t-bass. Has anyone any information on this bass? It has the Best jazz/Musicman combination I ever heard. BR from denmark 8 Quote
LukeFRC Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 they look like late 90's status markers that they used on their wood necks Quote
AndyTravis Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Wonder if Mark Gooday will know anything about it? I’ll send the pics. Quote
TheGreek Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Maybe some of the @Ashdown Engineering team have some info on this. ( @AndyTravis beat me to it) Quote
AndyTravis Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Unless he means he’s not well at all - feeling very odd 😏 3 Quote
AndyTravis Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 This is the only other T-Bass variant I knew of... 3 Quote
AndyTravis Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Wonder if this bass was constructed under the Peavey ownership, after MG had stopped working with Trace? Quote
Doctor J Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 It's a lot nicer than the T Bass turned out. I like that a lot. 1 Quote
LukeFRC Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Have you got a photo of the back of it? Headstock, neck join and something of the back of the neck. Quote

Ask Status about it. Might be worth the question. It looks much more recent than the T-Basses, wooden pickup covers etc. Love the body shape. I wonder if it was a luthier who was commissioned to make a prototype for when Peavey took over. Quote

Løchte Posted September 28, 2020 Author Posted September 28, 2020 Thanks for all your inputs-I’ll post some additional fotos later today. anybody got ideas of which brand the pickups are from? the preamp has fixed balance between the pickups and 3 band eq. Quote
AndyTravis Posted September 28, 2020 Posted September 28, 2020 Those look just like the machine heads on my Status. Might be worth an email to Rob/Dawn at status and see if they know anything about it as the inlays and Machineheads point to essex. Quote
LeftyJ Posted September 29, 2020 Posted September 29, 2020 Striking similarity to the Status Retro-J model too. Quote
