Clarky
Looks to be in pretty good nick, usual slight cracks on rear of headstock. £3k, which used to be a lot for a Pro but probably isn't these days! https://thebassgallery.com/collections/bass/products/wal-pro-bass-1980

TheGreek
I overpaid (£1600) for a Pro years ago. In hindsight it may have been a bit of a bargain. Sold it as I didn't like the neck profile.
Happy Jack
I wonder what "light, for a Wal" actually means ...

Gotta say the Bass Gallery are rubbish at updating the details on basses for sale. 4000
It is an oddity though. No scratch plate (poss refin?), Custom knobs (which could have been replaced). Interesting.

NickA
Not an oddity it's an early custom with a pro bass neck on it ( they did at first). Worth about £5000 if it's all working. There's rush fans in the USA who will fight to the death for it!

pineweasel
Yes, definitely an fairly early Custom, although it has the two piece output socket instead of the Pro’s single chrome casting. I wonder if the black finish is original? Good price by recent standards.
Reggaebass
I don’t know much about Wal’s , but thats a really nice looking bass, if it’s all original and in good working order, I don’t think 3k is too bad.

NickA
Sold. Unsurprisingly. Hopefully staying in the UK with someone who will play it ...not flip it for £6000 to the states. Surprised the gallery, of all people, got caught out by this one. Edited October 2, 2020 by NickA

May have been a commission sale where they just wanted it shifted. Can’t decide whether I’m happy it’s sold or gutted. I was actually toying with selling the Azure ‘72 Ric for a brief (very brief) moment. Probably a good thing it’s gone, took me 17 years to find that! Other than the Pro neck it’s a standard Custom series in all other ways. They made quite a few like that around 1981.. 40hz
I really should have been looking at Basschat yesterday, I would have had this. 😰😰😰
4000
I’m kind of kicking myself too. If it hadn’t worked out it would have been easy enough to sell on. Just a small matter of the initial outlay, which could have caused some issues with she-who-must-be-obeyed. 😉
