Hi guys, 

My ibanez sr600 could do with some TLC, some small chunks have been taken out from slapping and poppin da bass near the end of the neck (see pic). Can I apply anything to preserve the body (ash)? Can any oils etc be applied to fender style painted jazz bass too to keep the paintwork in good nick?

How about fret board oil, or clear danish oil applied with a cotton bud... Maybe enough to seal n colour.

What strings are those? They look a bit ground... Rotosound Solobass?
