Fishman
Can anybody point me in the right direction to source matching bolts and cups/ferrules (or whatever those things are called that the bolts sit in on the body) Cheers!
itu
I am not quite sure that I am following, but I try to describe my choice through standards and one part. Thomann sells these: https://www.thomann.de/gb/goeldo_np10c_neck_fix_bushing.htm https://www.thomann.de/gb/goeldo_np10b_neck_fix_bushing.htm I would walk to a screw shop and ask for these: - DIN 7991 (hex bolt) - to match those Göldö parts (careful with the length, you do not want to go through the fretboard) - DIN 7965 (slotted insert) - to the neck, must fit the previous parts (the slotted end is the head and goes first to the wood) For assembly I suggest one basic bolt (DIN 961) along with a coupling nut (DIN 6334). Put the latter to the first and then tighten the insert to the coupling nut. It is pretty easy to screw these (straight) with the help of a column drilling machine or similar. When the insert is in place, it is pretty easy to open the set with two wrenches, and there will be no forces affecting the insert. Hope I was on a right track and this would help.

Andyjr1515
I've used a number of suppliers, but kayfast are probably as good as any for the machine screws and finishing washers: https://www.kayfast.co.uk/category/543/Metric-Socket-Countersunk-Screws https://www.kayfast.co.uk/category/670/Solid-Finishing-Washers ukstainless.co.uk are also OK but tend to start at M5 and also I don't think they sell finishing washers The inserts are more tricky. Some are very soft and can be troublesome to insert them. It's a bit of trial and error but I think I found that the ones that 'Rob's Fasteners' ebay shop sells were OK.
Fishman
Thanks Andy! What width of bolt should I be looking for? M4, M5? Edited October 9, 2020 by Fishman

Fishman
Hi Andy – what depth of threaded insert should I be looking for?
Andyjr1515
9 minutes ago, Fishman said: Hi Andy – what depth of threaded insert should I be looking for? They tend to be single size for each screw diameter. There are generally two types also, those with a flange on the top and those without. Both are OK but I tend to go with the flangeless ones as it is easier to ensure that they are not at all standing proud of wood surface when screwed in. Fishman
Ah yes, looks like it will be these then… https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/M4-M5-M6-M8-WOOD-INSERT-NUTS-FURNITURE-FIXING-SLOTTED-METRIC-THREAD-SCREWS/174192099035?hash=item288ea87edb:g:8uIAAOSwD0deR7ZM

By the way, the slot in these are not for a screwdriver - the slot goes downwards in the hole. The are inserted by fitting a screw with a nut, winding the nut up to the insert and then using a spanner to screw them in...which is why I prefer the ones with an allen key slot
