Quick question, I’ve been looking at a few hohner B2’s, it says some have been adapted to take normal strings, how do they do that

I don't know why anyone would do that though, just get double ball end strings, surely?!

Anyone got good recommendations for strings? I've got Status strings on my Washburn Status at the moment, I had Pyramids on my old Hohner and they were great, but never tried any others... Looking for a bright, zingy sound and light weight. Thanks!

I've never liked headless guitars. I always think there's something missing plus the head is part of what makes guitars sexy. I like a guitar to look good. That's why I like Fenders and Thunderbirds

I did look into this a bit, and apparently they don’t work very well with flats, perhaps they are too smooth to lock with the Allen key

Limited choice, fortunately I like stainless Elites on mine.

I have played Elixir strings for years and love the feel and long-lasting brightness of coated strings, but try finding coated double-balls 

I use Status strings on both my S2's now and do like them, but they don't keep their brightness as long.

Apart from being fugly, headstocks wreck the balance of basses. Warwick really missed a trick not making the Thumb headless as they planned at one point. Still, each to their own, and you have my sympathy.
