Browsing through eBay and I found a couple of sets of strings by the same company, Bryce. After reading the front packaging I got to wondering " I wonder what's the difference". Then I realised that at about £6 a packet (remember you probably get what you pay for) I REALLY DON'T CARE ENOUGH TO OPEN THE AD.

At £6 a packet, has to be worth a punt. Getting what you pay for is relative. The price of strings at the factory gate is tiny compared to the retail price by the time the importer, wholesaler, retailer, Uncle Tom Cobley & All have added their percentages (standard retail markup alone on musical stuff is 100%).

I had a Bryce bass and it was utter turd. I wouldn't buy anything else with their name on.

They won't be making their own stuff. If the strings come from a half decent factory, they could be fine.

I got a Bryce practice amp and its pretty decent, punchy little tool.

Having said that, I think Bryce is just a brand name some importer slaps on whatever gear comes their way, so quality is liable to be very variable from product to product.

I may be dreaming it but that packet with the sunburst Jazz looks identical to the Fender taperwound 5 string set I bought a while ago. Where there's a big gap above 'Nickelplated steel' it had the Fender logo. 🤔

Funny you should say that. They haven't got their name on these. 😁

A few years back some bloke was knocking out 'Silk Road' Chinese bass strings for £10 per 6 string set.  Very good they were, too.  Gutted when he disappeared from Ebay....

I won't buy any bass strings unless I know what colour the silks are ...

Aren't they all black sharpie coloured? 😉

Well my guess would be linked to one showing a long scale bass and one showing a short scale...

Not spending the £12 I would need to to prove that! :D
