Happy Jack
Typo? At £900 rather than £9000 it wouldn't be such a bad deal.
EliasMooseblaster
Reading that, I think I learnt more about the seller's life history than I did about the bass itself! Still, you've got to love the little details in the "Item Specifics" section: "Features: With Pickup." How generous of him! Not a typo, he already listed it at the same delirious price before... Lunatic ?
Reggaebass
It’s been listed quite a few times, the first time I thought it was a typo and offered £900, I got no reply 🙂
Jakester
Why, if it's a P-only, does it have three knobs?
Reggaebass
AFAIK, it was fenders first active P , with volume, bass and treble
bassbloke
I reckon he's been told to sell it as 'it' s just sitting roumd gathering dust'. He doesn't want to, so he has priced it not to sell.

Reggaebass
I’ve found a bit of info here 🙂http://www.riverband.demon.nl/special.html
wateroftyne
Andy Baxter has a CAR one in for a (vaguely) more reasonable price: https://www.andybaxterbass.com/products/1981-fender-precision-special-candy-apple-red?_pos=1&_sid=11677bf84&_ss=r I had one of the lovely all-walnut ones back in the day. One thing which seems to be common to all of these - when they're not being gigged, they can also used as anchor points for commercial airships. itsmedunc
A mate of mine bought the blue model when they first come out. Heavy as but a really nice bass indeed. He got into raving in the 90's and swapped it for a couple of record decks. We all do very silly things.
Jean-Luc Pickguard
He'd have to knock a few quid off for the missing thumbrest
ash
I sold one recently for nowhere near that amount around a grand in fact. It was a beauty but at 5kgs not for my back! The controls were volume active bass and treble, if you switched it to passive they reverted to volume and tone. Very effective circuit. Dan Dare
Oh look. Auction ended with no bids. Fancy that.
WHUFC BASS
9 large? F@ck off ... there must be something in the water in Wales. At best 1500 he should be asking and certainly no more.
Reggaebass
I’ve got a feeling he’ll be relisting it for 9 large again

TheGreek
Still unrealistic.... He says it's part of his family - priced like it's one of his children.
Jean-Luc Pickguard
For that price I'd still expect something to rest my thumb on

WHUFC BASS
I'm sure he's trying to list it for £900 but is having problems with noughts on his keyboard
