There have been a few Rivoli’s on eBay recently...

Have no idea what use I’d have for one, but I love the look of them.

There was a planned Rivoli Reissue a few years ago, they did some casinos with trans shell pickguards and lighter bursts etc.

I waited, waited and waited...the guitars came and went, the basses just disappeared off the price list.

there was a photo of one on the initial press release.

It was more like - the casino was denoted as 1961 reissue.

I'd be interested to look at the new Sadowsky basses when they appear.

My real wish is for lots of gigs.

An Epiphone version of the Ripper would be great (though an original would be even greater!).

I think I’m pretty much set at present, at some point I might look at getting a 5 string bass but that’s only if the band I’m currently in start doing songs where a fiver makes more sense.

Been looking at the MM short scales - look like good value.

Would like a Lakland 44-02 (I know there's one in the Basses for sale thread) but need to sell a few bits first.

Yeah,, looking at a Yamaha BB734. My 60th b-day is in 2021. Sounds like a good present. I thought about a real musicman, I have a Sterling stingray, not 100% sold on the sound. May trade in my Fender p and maybe the stingray toward the 734. (Yeah, trade in the fender. )

I don't really have many thoughts about bass related gear.  I'm lucky enough to own some lovely basses and backline.  Happy, I suppose.  A Spector EuroBird with a nice top would get me moist, but I'm not holding my breath.

Non-bass related stuff, I'd like Gibson to put out an affordable (sub-£1K, I suppose) 50s doublecut Les Paul Junior.

GAS?  Vanity purchases more than anything else.  Still hunting for a Hamer Cruisebass, might buy a second Darkglass 1x12.  If Gibson pull their finger out, I might swing for a (used) Evil Robot combo if one became available.  No rush.

What would be different about that from the current doublecut les paul junior?

Same as 2020 and 2019, a Ken Smith Black Tiger. I have a feeling this could be a long wait though. 
Only other bass I’d like again is a Warwick NT Thumb bass. Really regret selling mine although I had no choice.

Personally, I believe the 50s-style Juniors (top) are just better looking compared the the DC tributes (bottom).  Gibson made a frankly lazy (and horrific) decision in going with the front rout and scratchplate on the Tribute model, especially as we live in a time where Gibson are doing all these correctly-specced 50s/60s/70s legacy reissues of Les Pauls etc.  I'm sure the new ones play nicely, sound OK, but, well, nah.  Yes, I know I could order up a custom shop one, but not at £3-4K a pop.

...sorry, an edit.  This is what lurks under that scratchplate.  Oh, the horror.  It also alludes that they actually did the finish before they routed out the body.  Sheesh.

Just now, a Warwick Thumb 6 or a Spector Forte 6 for a bass.

A nice 4 ohm 4x10 as well. 

I don't have the funds for any of it.

I admit I like the TV yellow, I was thinking of having my LP redone in that colour

I have more than I need and most of what I want.  One of the 70s/80s quality MIJ short scale EB-3 copies would be nice but my world will keep turning without one.

The trouble is that GAS, like Zeros, comes at you from out of the sun and will strike without warning.  I'll read of something on here then move Heaven and Earth to try and get it.

I'm even worse with plants.

I'd like to get hold of the Lakland Hollowbody 30 (their shortscale Skyline) in the new Black colour.
I'd also like a Serek 5 string, but that's looking unlikely haha.

Only because I've never played/owned one, I wouldn't mind adding a short scale to the collection. Or at least having a look at a few, I mean what's the worst that can happen? Current contenders are the........

Ah, I'm finding the same with my Epiphone Jack Casady. The comfiest way I've found to play it is to hang it fairly low and have my arm through the dip just before the top horn. 

If it's not so comfy it could be good news though seeing as it's the most expensive of the 3!! 😂

Yes, I bought a classic vibe mustang last year, but then got notification that it was going to be 6 months until delivery so I cancelled it. Would still be keen on getting one!

Different strokes for different folks - I love mine and find it extremely comfy to play.
