Would still be keen on getting one! The surf green one looks pretty tasty. I've seen a FSR pink bronco that looks nice too. We might get some luck in the Jan sales!! 28 minutes ago, Paul S said: Different strokes for different folks - I love mine and find it extremely comfy to play. I wish Spector would get their finger out and make the Spectorbird shape available as a Euro option!! Also, I'd like them to make a twin J pickup version available of their Euro LX or Classic model.... Apart from these I'm always on the look out for another Hamer Impact bass 😉

Didn't Gibson lose the body shape European trademark for all their Thunder/Firebird designs (and the old pointy stuff) a year or so ago? I like the Korean 4X model, but not enough to swing for one...god, imagine a 4X in that purple LT finish.

It was more like - the casino was denoted as 1961 reissue. The bass player in a mate’s band used a reissue Rivoli in the ‘90s. It sounded epic. In fact they played on the same bill as another friend’s band, the bassist of which was using my old Wal, it actually sounded a lot better than the Wal, IMO. In context, obviously. One of the things I loved about it was that if you went into something in a high register it still sounded huge, which is one of my issues with most basses. Having said that about my old Wal, it’s another Wal on my wish list, funds allowing, for very specific usage. Sounds like a good present. I thought about a real musicman, I have a Sterling stingray, not 100% sold on the sound. May trade in my Fender p and maybe the stingray toward the 734. (Yeah, trade in the fender. ) That does sound like a good present! Edited November 6, 2020 by Al Krow In the interests of full disclosure, I should mention that I maybe just a teeny-weeny bit biased about Yammy BBs...

Although tbf I've had a much more restrained 2020 on the gear front and am only up one bass: a relatively modest used Yammy BB735A, which is a replacement for one I sold in 2019, the same colour and actually about the same age too - I guess that's about as "like for like" as it gets! In terms of my own 2021 wish list: a multifx upgrade over my recently sold Helix is top of my list. The Boss SY-1000 is the leading contender for me, but I'm looking forward to seeing if there are any surprises crawling out of the woodwork at (virtual?) NAMM 2021. Multis are getting better all the time as both chip processing power and their UIs, both on pedal and via PC editing, continue to improve. bassbiscuits
Wouldn't mind getting my Yamaha BB604 refinished from the current red wine burst colour - maybe something really off the wall like mint green or metallic purple. I'd also just like to get back to a point where I have some gigs at which to play it.
Baloney Balderdash
I will most likely have a clone of the Fender Blender octave fuzz build at some point in the new year, which is capable of some pretty out of control over the top fuzz tones and might be the most wonderfully abrasive and harsh fuzz ever made. Also I am quite certain that I'll buy the 27" scale Harley Benton Baritone CLG-414BCE NT acoustic baritone guitar, which has gotten some amazingly great reviews (even the Fishman piezo/preamp system it comes with allegedly is supposed to sound great, very natural and close to the acoustic tone of the guitar), but only costs 269£/291 Euro. Most likely already placing my order on one coming either January or February 2021. And I've also already settled for which strings to get for it, namely a gauge .070 to .016 set of 80/20 Bronze Elixir Nanoweb acoustic baritone guitar strings. Really looking forward to get one of these, and most likely it will replace my electric guitar as the main instrument for the songs I am working on for my alternative folk project. Here's how the Harley Benton acoustic baritone guitar looks : Here's the link to it on Thomann's homepage : https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_baritone_clg_414bce_nt.htm?ref=intl&shp=eyJjb3VudHJ5IjoiZ2IiLCJjdXJyZW5jeSI6IjQiLCJsYW5ndWFnZSI6ImVuIn0%3D And here's a thorough YouTube demo/review of it : Edited November 6, 2020 by Baloney Balderdash

I'm seeing more and more epiphone reissues being announced this month. I would be over the moon if it actually returns this time.

Well now having evaluated the update to this is the fiver isn’t needed at present but what I will be adding is a Squier Affinity PJ in black (possibly a Seymour Duncan Quarterpounder Precision pickup for it) and a Broughton High Pass Filter pedal. I’m determined to only go down the 5-string route when the material I’m playing tells me that I need to. Raslee
Think I may consider another Sandberg to add to my current 3. I’m slowly Gasing for this bass Prince is playing, yet I’m clueless to what the model is.
M@23
@Raslee it’s a mk1 Ida Nielsen signature. Not been on the market for a few years now, it’ll take some hunting and maybe a bit of patience to track one down! You might have more luck looking for a relic mk1 VM4. The new Ida signature is fantastic too!
