There is a Warwick Hellborg 2x12 cab for sale down here in NZ. They’re not common in these parts and I can’t test it before buying.  Who’s got one, and what’s it like?

Thanks in advance.

I know that some UK and European Basschat members bought cabs in the Thomman blow out a couple of years ago.  I've used the preamp and amps and they're superb.  The pre is my favourite of all that I've used.  The amps are incredibly well built and the philosophy behind their conception and execution appears very robust.  I'd hope that the quality is carried through into the construction and performance of the cabs.

I would imagine the magic is in the pre and power amp.

(Background: 2 x 12" is my favorite construction at the moment...)

Cabinets have several possible issues that are not overly simple. I would be surprised if the Hellborg version would be somewhat limited in construction or quality. If possible, test drive it with your favourite amp and feel the quality. Be open to new settings of the amp to find the sounds and the nature of the cab.

The Hellborg preamp is amongst the best on all points, for sure. The rest of the range has known quality issues... So as @itu said, better give it a try before buying.

Thanks for your input guys. I’ve decided to let it slide as I would not have been able to test it.

now, if I can get my hands on another Eden D210xst...
