alyctes Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 (edited) The neck of a long-departed SB301. It's black over pale wood, presumably maple, with a rosewood board and 24 frets. The trussrod is maxed out and there's a developing separation between fingerboard and neck at the headstock end (though this never got any worse while I had it - five years or so). There are a few small dents and bumps - nothing through the paint, and nothing on the back of the neck. Neck is straight. The frets have some wear but there's a lot of life in them yet. There's no hardware or nut. The trussrod cover is around here somewhere but will take some finding. The bass was a BC SB301, not labelled as Japanese-made, and with a five-digit serial number. Educated guesss is that it was part of the pre-production batch done in Korea when BC was considering moving production there. Yours for price of postage and a feedback entry.
