Hi, I'm Paul, I've recently joined up so it's about time I said "Hello." Originally from Staffordshire but based in Croydon for over 20 yrs now. I've been playing bass guitar for 25 years but took up the double bass in early 07 and now play that a lot.

I'm currently playing in 3 bands which is keeping me busy! I play upright in Gentleman Tim and the Contenders. We play jump blues and west coast swing & you can find us at: http://www.gentlemantim.com We play twice a month at Ain't Nothin' But The Blues in Soho (http://www.aintnothinbut.co.uk) which is a fantastic venue. I also play upright in The Red Jumps which is country and western swing - we're at http://www.myspace.com/redjumps. Finally, I get to use my bass guitars with The Hundred-Givers, blues with soul (says our blurb). We're at http://www.myspace.com/thehundredgivers

I have a German double bass that's about 50yrs old with a B Band pick-up. I use a Mark Bass CMD121p combo. Then I have 2 Stingrays (fretted 5 and fretless 4) and a Reverend bass which is a bit like a Danelectro - plastic hollow body and fender-type neck. Never seen another one in the UK - does anyone else have one?? I use a G-K 700RB and either a Peavey 4x10 or an Aguilar GS112 with these. I also have a BassPOD but I haven't used it in ages...........

Looking forward to exploring the site more, learning lots and enjoying being part of the Brotherhood of Basschat!

Paul
