stewblack
Hi folks, any of the pointy heads here know if this is Firefox being overly cautious or if it's actually something the BC should be made aware of?
Woodinblack
Depends why you are going there, if you are just looking it poses no risk at all, just that it doesn't have a correctly configured ssl site, but you don't need it to have 1
Jean-Luc Pickguard
The warning comes up when https://www.basscentre.com/ is accessed But the non-ssl version http://www.basscentre.com loads up with the usual 'site not secure' indicator in the address bar. Its a little concerning that following the 'secure checkout' link after adding something to your basket takes you to another non-secure page to enter your your details. I'd hope the credit card info is taken on a secure third party site. Really in 2020 to avoid losing customer trust all sites that do ecommerce should be 100% HTTPS as modern browsers throw out so many warnings when browsing with HTTP. Adding a secure server certificate is not difficult or expensive. bty - my head isn't pointy Edited November 4, 2020 by Jean-Luc Pickguard added that my head isn't pointy

Wasn't he a fiddle player? Anyhoo it appears that the Bass Centre is using a self-signed certificate. As J-LP says this doesn't present much of a risk to you as a viewer, as long as you're confident that it's the actual Bass Centre site and not some clone. It's pretty sloppy on the part of the Bass Centre though, there's really no excuse for a commercial site to be set up like this. Pointy-head Pete.
