Pea Turgh
I know gold anodized plates can be divisive, so just to say I already have one, and I very much like it! I bought it for my JV P (maple board, sunburst - classic). Also on my JV P were some Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders, but they don’t fit the aesthetic, and are a bit too “in yer face” (esp with the maple board), so I decided to swap them over with my bitsa pups, as I reasoned that they would sit better in a rosewood-boarded instrument. Thank goodness for @KiOgon looms! However, I can’t get the (temporary) squire pups that were in my bitsa in to the pup cutouts on the scratchplate. The corners of the pup corners seem to be too sharp/square. I’ve placed an order for some Tonerider pickups, and I’m really hoping they fit as-is - I really don’t want to start filing the plate. Anyone else had issues with different pups in an anodized plate? Edited November 4, 2020 by Pea Turgh
Pea Turgh
The Toneriders arrived just now. They fit! And my oh my, they sound gooood!!! Perfectly balanced sonic spectrum. Warm, articulate. I’m a convert, and I now have the perfect bass. The end.
Lozz196
Congrats, those Toneriders punch way above their weight, I found them to sound very similar to Fender Custom Shop 62s, but still a fraction of the cost.
Pea Turgh
Might have been your positive words on them that made my mind up to try them @Lozz196!
