fretmeister Posted November 5, 2020 Posted November 5, 2020 Lovely. How do I make it install onto my external SDD instead of the C drive? Not much room left on that. Quote

The Install procedure asks if a Custom or Default install is wanted; I chose Custom and gave the drive/folder the data was to go to. I also gave the path to my Vst folder. Why an external SDD..? Is that especially fast or something..? Just curious. Quote
GisserD Posted November 5, 2020 Author Posted November 5, 2020 I'm considering reinstalling all my vst and sample libraries onto a ssd. I want to keep the laptop ssd free to run the DAW and other important things like photography. Quote

Even on simple things like saving a large excel spreadsheet loading and saving is noticeably faster. Quote
GisserD Posted November 8, 2020 Author Posted November 8, 2020 be aware. the article says end of vovember, but the actual end date is 12th!!!!! so not much time left! Quote
Dad3353 Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 I'm trying it out now, seeing what I can come up with for this month's Composition Challenge. S'looking good, so far, so well pleased with my 'purchase'. Will it do well in the Challenge..? Given its qualities, it could well do, but given mine, it's rather more doubtful. Well worth twice the price I paid, though. Quote
paul_5 Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 I had a play about with it last night, as my plan was to import some Mellotron samples and not have to buy a soft synth mellotron. That is a MASSIVE rabbit hole - there’s so much functionality with this thing. Quote
GisserD Posted November 8, 2020 Author Posted November 8, 2020 (edited) I can highly recommend the toontrack mellotoon if you do decide to go that route. Edited November 8, 2020 by GisserD Quote
Phil C Posted November 11, 2020 Posted November 11, 2020 Thanks for this! Just installing it now. Nice one! Quote
