Ah man what a shame.  As a youngster, i loved The Magicians Birthday  and had it in my collection.

'The Wizard' was one of the first things I learnt on the guitar, the album was one of the first 'proper' albums I bought, too.  Always had a soft spot for that early Heep era.  Only Micky Box left

Gutted, my fave band for a long time due to Gary Thain. I remember Ken starting Rainbow Demon at Newcastle City Hall, with a sandwich sticking out of his gob.

You'll be missed fella.

Sad news.

KH was in a band called the Gods, featuring a very young Mick Taylor. He used to support many of the bands I used to see, Jeff Beck Group, John Mayall etc.

Very sad.  The guy pretty much invented heavy rock keyboard playing.  His playing on Gypsy was just mind blowing,

It’s still one of my go-to’s when picking up a new acoustic.

Absolutely love Demons & Wizards and Magician’s Birthday, and a few of the others for that matter. Was listening to Innocent Victim the other day and had forgotten how good it was.

I remember being introduced to him at a Billy Sheehan bass clinic at the bass centre in Wapping nearly 30 years ago. He seemed like a nice bloke. I believe he was involved with SLM/Ampeg at the time. RIP Ken
