As it's Remembrance Sunday, I thought I'd share this recording of an old 19th Century Shaker song that was sung in the trenches of WWI. It's set to some old footage from the Battle of the Somme. 

 

We're not the first rock band to give it a rock edge but hadn't heard the other versions prior to our release (we have now). Here's what it originally sounded like. 

 

My Great Grandfather was shot and killed by a German sniper during that battle, resulting in my Grandfather growing up never having met his father.
