KingPrawn Posted November 12, 2020 Posted November 12, 2020 (edited) Hey all. Hope you're well? I never get tired of hearing this arrangement and how it resolves. Please bring you best resolutions to the yard! For me it starts at 3.04 resolves around 4.07 Edited November 12, 2020 by KingPrawn Quote
Mykesbass Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Possibly one of the reasons it became the classic that it now is, is the structure of Stairway to Heaven, including the come down at the end. 1 Quote

Barking Spiders Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 (edited) This cos of the very underrated guitar solo from 4.11 to the end It's not done by Roland as the vid shows but by sessioner Neil Taylor Edited November 13, 2020 by Barking Spiders Quote
Phil Starr Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Perhaps guitar solos belong at the end. Whoever the session guys were on this they did a great job. Fun bass line too. 1 Quote

Andrew Powell https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Powell look him up and you realise he knows a bit of music theory! Wish I did, so much for the idea that knowledge stifles creativity 1 Quote
Maude Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Tori Amos' Winter puts me slightly on edge all the way through and I find myself almost holding my breath until the chorus begins with a sigh of relief. But the tense feeling soon builds again until the beginning of the next chorus. It's a beautifully sad song. Quote

Old Man Riva Posted November 15, 2020 Posted November 15, 2020 From 2:26, and features a really tasty descending bass line... 2 Quote
skankdelvar Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 In terms of music that resolves perfectly we should never forget Wagner's Tristan and Isolde, an opera which drags on for lasts three hours and fifty minutes and never, ever resolves to the tonic until the very last chord (and even that's a bit ambiguous in some peoples' opinion). 1 1 Quote
Paul S Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Not sure if this is a good example or not? A damned fine choon, either way Quote
