Raising a Rivoli pickup MODS PLEASE MOVE TO REPAIRS & TECHNICAL

I’m loving my Rivoli Bass, but I’d like to try and get the pickup a little closer to the strings. Has anyone done this successfully?

I’m thinking I could just take out the four screws holding it in, remove the cover plate, and put some kind of dense foam under the pickup to raise it up. I might need longer screws to refit, but would that work? Cheers.

You could try raising the pole pieces first, that might beefen things up already.

I’ve raised them quite a bit, but the pickups around 7mm from the strings.

Yes, it’s that gap which I’m not too sure on. I wish you could get some kind of mudbucker spacer like you can dogear P90s.
