Bilbo Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 I remember the Cassidy/Donny Osmond wars from the mid-70s. It got ugly. I always preferred Cassidy. I was talking about him the other day after a quiz question and looked this up on YouTube. This bass player has a great live sound and feel. I can't quite catch the bass and certainly don't know the player. Any ideas? Google is drawing a blank. Quote

casapete Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 Great song by Brian Wilson and Mike Love. David Cassidy was really talented - good singer and a good guitarist too. Such a sad end to his life at the age of 67 due to alcohol related issues. Quote
Bilbo Posted November 24, 2020 Author Posted November 24, 2020 Yes, I knew it was a Beach Boys cover but always loved his version. He had a great voice. 1 Quote

Bilbo Posted November 24, 2020 Author Posted November 24, 2020 I thought Westone. Thought it might be a custom job. Quote
fleabag Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 Great tone on that bass, Westone or whatever. Quote
LeftyP Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 David's dad was the actor Jack Cassidy who was one of the best "villains" in the TV series Columbo! 1 Quote

Stingray5 Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 I may lose my Prog-rock credibility here, but back in 70's I had his album "Home Is Where The Heart Is". Produced by Beach Boy Bruce Johnston the album has a host of top name session players including Lee Sklar on bass and Danny Kortchmar on guitar. His cover of the McCartney song, "Tomorrow", is what made me buy the album and also showed Cassidy could go beyond the teenybop image with time changes and a rockin' guitar solo (I think from 'Kootch'?). 1 Quote
