edstraker123 Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 This looks quite nice and a decent price. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-String-Mini-Short-Scale-21-Scale-Electric-Bass/333798535695?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Quote
binky_bass Posted November 24, 2020 Posted November 24, 2020 (edited) There's a few things that scream cheap Chinese build quality on this... the headstock finish is rough, the through body ferrules are odd, the tuners are the 'hipshot' fakes you find on real cheap Eastern copies and the spacing is a little off. If it stays at £50 its probably worth a punt, with 5 days left it'll probably jump. Any more than £50/£60 I think you'd be disappointed with it! Edited November 24, 2020 by binky_bass Quote
edstraker123 Posted November 24, 2020 Author Posted November 24, 2020 Yes I think you're right - wouldn't go much higher than the current price. Quote
Owen Posted November 27, 2020 Posted November 27, 2020 Ex bass uke. I would love to try it. I cannot deny I am tempted. Quote

prowla Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 Hmmm - I bough an Ashbory a couple of months ago; it's quite a fun little thing... 1 Quote
TheGreek Posted November 30, 2020 Posted November 30, 2020 I had one...hated those sticky white strings - apparently the black ones are better. Quote
lemmywinks Posted December 2, 2020 Posted December 2, 2020 Only about £30 more for a new one off AliExpress. Quote
Owen Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 I am thinking of buying one off Ebay (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MiNi-5string-ukulele-electric-bass-neck-thru-Ukelele-Uke/363051228775?hash=item54878a1e67%3Ag%3AX98AAOSwH0Vb5F06&LH_All=1) and messing with it to make a very small Bass Guitar. Do any of you have actual direct experience with these? I can live with rough edges because my supreme lutherie skills are up to it. I own sandpaper. 2 Quote
Owen Posted December 13, 2020 Posted December 13, 2020 I guess there is only one way to find out. I have just bought one. 1 Quote
