rbatts2000
Hi all My nice new Eden head has a 'tuner output' jack. I've never used one before, and not being at home at the moment, I can't experiment with it to find out how it works. So...to satisfy my curiosity, does anyone know how I would connect my tuner (Boss TU-2) to the amp via this jack? Also, are there any advantages to hooking the tuner up this way compared to the standard 'bass -> tuner -> effects -> amp'? Many thanks Rick
BOD2
The "Tuner Out" just sends a signal out which can be used as the input to a tuner. On Eden amps I think it's about twice the signal strength of the bass itself - i.e. suitable for any tuner - and it is tapped off BEFORE the preamp section of the amp, so that the tone controls don't affect it. No specific advantage in using that rather than the tuner in-line, although if your in-line tuner mutes the signal while tuning then you would NOT get that from the "Tuner Out" connection. But I think Eden amps have a "Mute" button on the front that mutes everything except the "Tuner Out" jack so you could use it that way. Incidentally, you can also use the "Tuner Out" as the input to a DI box if you wanted.

The flip side is that if now you use your tuner as mute switch you will not be able to do it using the Tuner Out of your Eden.
bass_ferret
The tuner out can be used to keep the tuner on all the time (if you dont like the effect of your tuner on the sound) cos its not on the signal path. Some fretless players like to keep the tuner on to make sure they are playing in tune.
leschirons
There was no mute on the front of my Eden WT500. I just used to connect the Tuner out to the "In on the tuner and that was it. Only problem is, most tuners, if they are battery powered, will be switched on when the jack is inserted even if the tuner is in the off position so you could drain batteries if you leave it connected for a whole gig. The tuner out on the Edens works great for putting another signal to a second rig for a bi-amp set-up. I used to take the signal to a second Eden (CXC300 2x12) to get the desired bottom end sound and then use the main rig (4x10s) for the middle and top end.
