I actually said “take a picture, so I can see how it looks on me” - next day, was up for sale.

That's because you are wearing it about two feet too high.

Some designs are fine on a short strap. The Thunderbird isn't one of them

Does the non-reverse shape affect the balance much, or not really? The strap button still looks a fair distance from the 12th fret.

Mild neck dive but better than the other thunderbird I had (reverse/classic)

think the gibbo will be different again, set neck, mahogany etc.

Although to be honest, Horace could play a pink Daisy Rock flower and would still look cool. If I ever bought a Thunderbird, it would be solely because of this man demigod.

Why? Just go the whole hog and reissue the original '64. It had better pickups (so I hear) and doesn't have that oil rig bridge.
