Shaggy
I always keep an eye on Gibson RD Artists on t’bay, being one of my favourite basses (I have 2.....), but this is the first fretless version I’ve ever seen: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gibson-RD-Artist-Bass-Guitar-Natural-73257043-Sherwood-Phoenix/174558863526?hash=item28a484e0a6:g:8TMAAOSw4-Rf12pC Looks to be a factory fretless rather than a mod, and I’m pretty sure the board is ebony (not rosewood as described) as on the fretted sunburst and black RD Artists. Eye-watering price though......
walshy
Crumbs! Looks very nice indeed. I have a 78 RD Artist, what a machine but not for the faint of back!

Heaviest production bass I know of, though I'm sure someone will come along in a minute with a heavier one...... What finish version did you get after? Shaggy
Nice! Moog circuit and original case definitely a plus! Pic proves that these basses are strong enough to support the entire weight of the continent of Africa.... 1
