New to five string )again) so I'm looking for a light set of strings. I found the Fender 72505L which have a 115 low B - ideal I thought. Searched around and found this site

I didn’t realise that this company was based in the Czech Republic as the phone number looked like a London one, but I have to say the service I received was excellent and the delivery took 5 days as promised. The customer service was really helpful and polite and, providing that this Brexit crap doesn’t cause them too much pain, I will use them again. The prices are really good too! Thanks guys!!😊

At the end of Nov I bought 3 sets (1 Sadowsky and 2 D'Addario) Delivered very quickly for a good price.....might buy some more for Xmas and before the unmentionable "B" kicks in 🙂

Ordered some bits and pieces last Sunday, the stuff didn`t ship until Thursday and as of Saturday it`s still somewhere in Germany. Not impressed and after the 1st in might be worse!

I bought an amp bag from them a couple of years back. Was a little nervy but the price and delivery was all good.

Have to say I had a look at Kytary earlier. There's a bass on there that has caught my eye. Which seems to be out of stock or discontinued else where.

When they say they have something in stock, is that generally the truth?

Do people not care much about our UK based music shops?

Sure Thomann, DV247 (no, they are not a UK store, they just have a call centre here), Bax and Kytary may provide great service/value for money (well for the timebeing anyway.  May be a much different story post-brexit no deal), but we have some fantastic UK music shops which would love your loyalty, if they are able to stick it out until the C-word is a thing of the past.

Some of them absolutely can (and have great bass specialist knowledge), but many of them just cannot begin to compete with the European monsters, and Amazon, but I for one still respect the benefits of local service, luthiery/repairs and good advice from a guy round the corner or across town.  It ain't all about the cheapest price.

Like all the best music venues, they haven't all disappeared...   yet.  But, please don't come on here moaning when it's too late.

I couldn't find the Fender strings in the UK which is why I eventually came across this vendor.

You're right, it isn't just about the money - it's also about the availability of the item you're after.

BTW, the fella in my nearest shop (Welwyn Garden City) is a knob - he's got more chance of 5hagging the Queen than getting my hard earned...

Exactly the same here shop from me is about 20 miles away so if you only need strings or picks etc by the time you factor in petrol and parking it's a pretty expensive set of strings and also price does matter as most people are in the same boat and if say a bass is maybe 60 or 70 quid cheaper online than in the local shop it's a no brainer really but I do try to use uk online retailers as much as possible

Bass direct and the bass gallery do have a wonderful selection which is part of the reason I shop at bass direct, because I can’t remember the last time I had the same strings twice in a row.

On the flip side, I think we should praise any store that offers good service. It is also misleading because the .co.uk would usually indicate a UK based company. I came across the website above because they had a Japanese KS Burner bass which you rarely see in the UK.
