All I got was "oops this page can't be found". I can't see and Spector products...

Guess they must have just taken it down. I was able to see the new basses just a few min ago. I had already read about them some time ago (they already got featured in the Spector's owner's manual: p. 3: https://www.spectorbass.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Spector-2020-Manual.pdf).

Cool find! I think they have nailed the Dimension pretty well, the headstock is nice (though that string tree is strange) Would have loved if the pickups are slanted a bit differently ( more to the direction of the bridge at the lower strings)

Not sure about the name though. Dimension? Really? Sounds rather familiar 😉

I don't think the multiscale ergonomic suit the NS at all.  The headstock on the 4 is DREADFUL, the 5 suits it better, but it still doesn't look right.  Needs a redesign to look in line with the slanted nut.  The string tree is terrible, and again just looks "out" because of the angle its at.  I'm not entirely sure why it needs one, but a decent headstock redesign would have made that redundant I'm sure.  Is that a tree that you need to actually pull the string through to restring as well??

Its a lot of money for a bass built in the Far East.  It's good to see Korg pushing Spector into new areas, but It just feels like they haven't fully committed.  A tweaked NS just doesn't cut it for me, just looks wrong.  Should rival the Dingwall Combustion series though, certainly looks like better value when you consider the cost of those is a bit more with less fancy woods.

I like that Ethos in that coloured finish though.  US finish normally, right?

It looks huge in the video, with a fairly short upper horn. I wonder how far away that first fret on the low B is when playing that on a strap!

Well that's what I mean.  It has a Dingwall length 37" B, yet the Dingwall body is designed in such a way that the reach isn't too bad.  The NS reach is already more than most for the scale length, and it looks like it's just a longer neck, with some gain from a bridge reposition?

With multiscales, one factor I always check is the position of the “vertical” fret, which determines how steep the angle is low down. On the Dingwalls it’s around the 7th fret, and it’s the same on Strandberg and the new Ibanez range.

On the Dimension it’s around the 12th fret, so it does mean more of an angle for the hand at the lower frets. The ESP Ltd and the Schecter Stiletto Studio-5FF are  the same. I like the look of these basses, but I think I’d be happier with the Dingwall-type layout.

I love Spector so much but they are seriously missing a trick by not offering the Euro series in a J/J config. A Jazz bass on steroids with the EMG/Hazlab/Tonepump flavour is something I could very much get on board with. In White with Black hardware too 😍😍. Sadly the USA models and custom shop are way, waaaay out my price range.

Agree, however, the Euro Classic comes as a JJ, only as a5 string through (and with gold hardware)

Quite right you are. I just don't like 5ers. Plus it makes the bass look less sleek and svelte. Imo of course.

Bass Direct taking preorders, not as expensive as I thought...

Serious competition for Combustions at £1,599

Yes, looks like Spector and Dingwall will go head-to-head indeed. Cool. Will be interesting to see how many people, current Spector bass owners or not, will go for the new Dimension instead of the already established Combustion or NG.

BTW, I still think they should have used a different name instead of Dimension. It always makes me think of this one. Sorry, I just cannot "unthink" it 😉

And you won't now either 😁
