lastanthem88
Ok slightly misleading title - I'm wondering if any of you well informed people can point me in the direction of a Jazz style bass (needs the two pick up growl!) with a smaller body? It doesn't have to 'look' like a Jazz bass, but it may well do. Slim neck, jazz bass pickup config/sound, smaller body. Thanks to anyone who can help! Burns-bass
Sire U5 is a perfect choice.
lastanthem88
That's a short scale isn't it BurnsBass? Thanks for the reply...also looks to be PJ pickup config?
ped
Sadowsky modern size is a reduced body (MS4/5 or RS4/5, maple or rosewood respectively) Or Atelier Z Beta series are great reduced bodies. What’s you’d budget?
lastanthem88
Thanks Ped, no more than £1000.00 really - Sadowsky out the window for sure haha!
Munurmunuh
Did the G&L JB-2 have a slimmed down body? Currently the American versions is discontinued, but the Indonesian Tribute version is still going. CameronJ
A Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones (DJ4 or DJ5 depending on how many strings you want) is a smaller, slightly reshaped Jazz style and can regularly be found used for under £1000

What’s you’d budget? That was my immediate thought too, IMO the Sadowsky modern shape is the best-looking revised jazz body out there. If lucky you might be able to get a used one a shade over £1k. Do the Verdine White bodies share that slimmer shape as well? If so the new Metro Express Sadowskys will be in budget, but there have been some early QC issues as discussed on another thread. ped
Looks like Bacchus have a bass similar to the Atelier Z Beta. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bacchus-WL424-MNG-Black-Used-Mango-Body-Rosewood-Fingerboard-w-Soft-Case-/265003302577?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
ead
Good point @ped I had a Bacchus P bass that was smaller in size to the Fender offering and had 21 frets.
ped
Great basses too - although I haven't been keeping up with them and I'm not sure if they have a budget range now and what they're like.
fretmeister
Sandberg TT models are quite a bit smaller than a trad jazz.

warwickhunt
The original Fender Urge... you get an extra P pup with your 2 Jazz but it is 32" scale (though I personally don't think it makes a massive difference to feel.
