Reggaebass Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 Ive put a few bids in and Iāve had lots of jazzes , and to my knowledge they have all had either US or M serial numbers on the back of the headstock, this one has the 60s logo but nothing on the back , any thoughts šhttps://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Jazz-Bass-Guitar-Used-/313364930017?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292 Quote

Reggaebass Posted January 1, 2021 Author Posted January 1, 2021 Just now, nilebodgers said: They aren't mexi fender, I just had a look at mine. So did I š, mine donāt have the topĀ corners angled on the plateĀ Quote
nilebodgers Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 The "waist" in the part of the peg below the cloverleaf sits in the wrong place for current squiers though, it is over wood on those and in air on the ebay bass. I think it's a no-name bitsa, not a Fender or Squier at all. 1 Quote
ped Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 Is it just me or does the body look a bit slab sided too? 3 Quote
AndyTravis Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 Why do these questionable (I.e. Fake) fenders always come from house clearances? Not a Fender of any format.Ā 1 1 Quote

Yeah absolutely Andy š, and youāve confirmed what I thought about it being not being genuine, I thought I would have a stab at it for a few quid as a project just to leave in my summerhouse but not now, Ā Ā btw , I like your avatar picāļø 1 Quote

prowla Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 3 hours ago, AndyTravis said: Why do these questionable (I.e. Fake) fenders always come from house clearances? Not a Fender of any format.Ā Precisely - that is the seller's disclaimer... Quote
prowla Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 Oops - posted the same as the one before me... This is why buying a used "Fender" is a minefield; everyone who puts a "Fender" logo on a non-Fender bass is potentially contributing to it being taken for a real one at some point in its future.. ash Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 The seller will feign ignorance no doubt. Itās got a lot of bids for atĀ best a bitsa.Ā Quote

gjones Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 No photo of truss rod access on the headstock. If it's natural then it's an Affinity Squier, or a cheapo copy. Ā Quote
prowla Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 Itās still not fit to sell in that state.Ā Quote
Doctor J Posted January 1, 2021 Posted January 1, 2021 If you look at the light shining on the headstock, that's a lumpy spray-can finish, clear as day. Quote
