warwickhunt Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 Only just realised tonight that the bassist on this song was also the vocalist. No idea why I've never twigged, as I remember hearing the bass line 100's of times on the radio but I always imagined that being of that era the vocalist would have been someone chosen from maybe session singers from that genre. Has anyone else ever been surprised in a similar way, especially by something that they may have been familiar with? 6 Quote

Lozz196 Posted January 2, 2021 Posted January 2, 2021 Takes talent to play that bass line and sing that lead melody at the same time. 1 Quote
fleabag Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 That track was one of our covers for 2 years, though i'm not in the band anymore. And i didnt sing. Great bass line though. The only track in out entire set that i used chorus on for the intro Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted January 3, 2021 Posted January 3, 2021 That's impressive. Channelling the Isley Brothers with that guitar? 1 Quote
warwickhunt Posted January 3, 2021 Author Posted January 3, 2021 LOL Not exactly the Isley Bros tone which I think was referenced (a la 'Summer Breeze'). Quote
