Mikey D Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Name that string... Flatwounds. Black wrapping at machineheads. Plain on ball end. Broken G string that I'd like to replace but appreciate may also mean buying a new full set. Quote
Maude Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Labella flats have black silks. I'm not sure if they all do but their set for Hofners do. Beware though, I needed a replacement D string as it snapped fitting it (LaBella replaced FOC) but it had a grey silk, so they might've changed them all now. A black sharpie soon matched it too the others though. Quote
Maude Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 Just to add, LaBella sell individual strings on their website. 🙂 Quote
Reggaebass Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 They could be Labella 760 FS , not sure what scale your bass is 🙂 Quote

Front the other current string ID thread, Dunlop have black silks at both ends, LaBella only have them at the nut end. Edited January 7, 2021 by Maude Predictive text has gone mad. 1 Quote
Mikey D Posted January 7, 2021 Author Posted January 7, 2021 You know I thought they might be labella but I bought some kf them like 10(!) Years ago if not more but took theese off a bass and they've just sat around until now. It's a standard 34in precision. Quote

Reggaebass Posted January 7, 2021 Posted January 7, 2021 The last time I contacted labella for a single LTF, G,string, they quoted me £16 plus £4.99 postage, I didn’t bother and just bought a new set Quote

I've bought individual strings to make up my own sets but they were rounds. I just assumed they did the same with flats, maybe not then. Sorry. Quote
