TheGreek Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 Headstock seems familiar - reminiscent of something from the 80s but for the life of me I can't remember what it is. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bass-Guitar-Used-Gold-body-4-string-Case-included/254831134901?hash=item3b551e88b5:g:RnEAAOSwjkxf-1gv Quote
AndyTravis Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 With a redesigned pickguard...pretty cool? Quote
AndyTravis Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 Honest guess? An Encore 3/4 with a messed about with body and added pickguard they were £89 in Argos in the 1990’s 1 Quote
alyctes Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Definitely familiar. I think I have a neck with similar headstock somewhere - the bass was cheap and not very good, I can't remember where I got it or what the make is. It had a marbled white-on-black pickguard, which I think I stil have. Full size. Quote
Maude Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 I actually quite like the scratchplate. Not this actually one that looks like he cut it out using a beaver held by the tail, Fred Flintstone style, but the general shape of it. Quote
rhysyjob Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 (edited) This is an old Kay short scale catalogue Bass. Originally came with no scratch plate a two tone black/grey burst body and neck as well as other colours. I had one as a starter bass and can confirm they had an action like the Severn Bridge! 🤣 Edited January 17, 2021 by rhysyjob Quote
