Thunderpaws Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 (edited) Hi everyone. Email shot just landed and it includes new Charvel basses. The spec looks pretty good for the money if the looks are to your liking!! heres the link to Charvel https://www.charvel.com/gear/shape/san-dimas-bass/pro-mod-san-dimas-bass-pj-iv/2965068518 and to your local guitar shop https://www.andertons.co.uk/charvel-pro-mod-bass-sd-pj-iv-in-mystic-blue Edited January 11, 2021 by Thunderpaws Quote
AndyTravis Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 £849...hum. in that bracket. Are these made in Mexico? Bit out of the loop on these new Charvels. A mate has a a San Dimas guitar and seems to be enjoying it. Love a bright sparkly P/J though. Quote

I don’t have any knowledge of the dimarzio pickups though. Volume, Blend and three band eq. Lumilay side markers too and a torified neck. 1 Quote

Although can’t get my head around what it would do any differently to my Sadowsky...ho hum, wouldn’t be GAS if it was rational though eh? Quote
skej21 Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 The Lambo Green 5 string... https://www.charvel.com/gear/shape/san-dimas-bass/pro-mod-san-dimas-bass-jj-v/2965079518 Yup! Quote
skej21 Posted January 11, 2021 Posted January 11, 2021 This is different enough to really stand out but also quite tame. I really like it! 3 Quote

horrorshowbass Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Still kinda want one, not for 849 quid tho...... Quote

It's actually a couple of hundred quid cheaper than the nearest equivalent Fender branded active PJ bass from the same facility. 1 Quote

Rayman Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 I really love the look of these, if I hadn't just pulled the trigger on two two other basses I'd be all over this. Quote
Geddys nose Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Got a bit of bad press on the pre amps, mines as quiet as a mouse and very useable. Quote
Old Horse Murphy Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 I had one of these in lime green and it was excellent. The only thing that let it down for me was the fact it weighed 10lbs. There are others that weigh considerably less though but sadly mine didn't. Quote

I remember that YouTube demo of an early one, and had been wondering if they had sorted out the preamp and shielding – really pleased to hear it's all good now Quote

That's some forward thinking, there! Not to mention they still refuse to properly shield them. They know it's an issue but they just don't care. Edited March 19, 2022 by jd56hawk Quote
Geddys nose Posted March 19, 2022 Posted March 19, 2022 Mine’s as good as any inside, shielding on cover and no missing paint anywhere. Very neat actually, must have been the first batch which had problems. Quote
