Piers_Williamson
Is that an Epic with a custom headstock?
Doctor J
It's an Orion with the crown headstock and oval fretboard inlays.

Me too on this - such a classy look (and the headstock facing looks gorgeous!)

It's in Scotland at the moment (with my brother) but as soon as we're allowed to congregate, you'd be very welcome indeed - it's been far too long. Winter in the pennine foothills is such a lovely time... (as you'll know!)

three
Clarky - definitely one of the coolest (if not the coolest) Alembic I've seen

itu
@mar_to_the_t: I had one, too. The cut of the body revealed the bass. I can say it felt good. 1991 model.

Shaggy
I thought I’d posted a couple of pics of my ‘bic ages ago, but looks like I haven’t. 1976 long scale S1 with birdseye maple facings; imported from the US (in the days before customs charges became crippling). I tend to gig with my Warwick (LX Streamer Jazzman) these days*, but the S1 is a lovely old beastie....... *Edit: when we actually were gigging, of course....... dmccombe7
Show us your Alembic pics and share your thoughts on your bass. Are they all good. Dave
4000
Well, I’ve owned 2 and played dozens, at the very least. Some have been stellar, some ok, some not great, but they’ve almost all been heavy! Here’s my custom Triple O, and with my second Warwick Dolphin Pro 1.

dmccombe7
That's a big chunk of wood there. Not surprised it was heavy looking at that pic.
4000
It was hollow. All Series basses are hollow and you can request it for a custom. It was still around 10 lbs though, similar to my Wal Pro and the Dolphin. Shame because standing I found the shape extremely comfortable. Seated, not so much. 😉 Edited January 14, 2021 by 4000
4000
I will say that IMO, the best of Alembic are the absolute pinnacle. Of course YMMV; they’re not for everybody and I know Alembic’s aesthetic - and tone - divides opinion.

Doctor J
My Orion. It's one of the "cheap" models but it's still something which is a joy to play every time. You can see where the money goes in them.
