such Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Bass Gallery posted that they have one of the original big Origin Cali76 for sale. Seems to be the then basic version, without the transformer or parallel blend. They put it up for £950. Is this what these sell for these days? Will we mere mortals be reduced to Am*z*n brand pedals soon? 1 Quote
Jonse Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Seems a bit much. Most recent big box models sold on eBay went for £325, £510, £540, £588. I paid 200 odd for my Diamond and I think even that was a bit much. 2 Quote
lee650 Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 A chap on Facebook recently sold a standard big box for over £400 and I thought that was crazy money (even though if I had it, I'd pay it 😂) Seems itcwas a bargain. I'll stick with my Cali76 CB 2 Quote
krispn Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 aye the prices are now daft. I have the big box with iron core TX wonder what the Bass Gallery would give me for it 😀 Quote

krispn Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Just do what I did - get a Cali CB and pair it with a Hudson Broadcast pedal! Bingo! A transformer based pedal and a killer compressor. I ran that set up for some time but sold them both for the big box TX Quote
krispn Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 So do I but then we’d never have met 🥰 1 Quote

fretmeister Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 Heretic alert. I haven't tried the TX version, but I have tried the regular one and the CB (and a boat load of others). I take the Boss BC-1X over the lot of them. [running for cover] 1 1 Quote

stewblack Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 Anyone follow the JHS YouTube channel? Did a great live stream recently about the klon. I suppose once something becomes collectable, it's value as a functional item is no longer the deciding factor Quote

Kev Posted January 25, 2021 Posted January 25, 2021 Insane!! The CB nails the tone of the big box non-transformer version comfortably, having owned both I can't think why someone would spend 4 times more and sacrifice all the board space for the big one. They're the same! Transformer ones are different and they do sound different for sure, but still. Silly money. Quote

such Posted January 25, 2021 Author Posted January 25, 2021 It was. To be fair I didn't like the transformer version too much, much preferred the neutral tone of the basic version. Quote

Save yourself a few hundred quid and buy the TX! 😁 Edited January 26, 2021 by Kev 1 Quote
such Posted January 27, 2021 Author Posted January 27, 2021 I actually got mine on here for £175, just worried about the future generations 😁 Quote
2pods Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 I think this is also starting to happen to a lesser degree to the big box 2 channel Slide Rig Quote
