Jazz M Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 Hi there, I'm fairly new to home recording. I have a Tascam DP-03SD which has a 'guitar' preamp built in, my bass sounds OK when plugged in directly. I also have a Sansamp Tech 21 bass driver. My question is, can I use the sansamp with the dp-03sd or could I risk damaging it. My bass is passive. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Quote
MartinB Posted January 23, 2021 Posted January 23, 2021 According to the manual: Quote When connecting an electric-acoustic guitar with a built-in preamp or an active-type electric guitar, or when using an effects pedal, for example, between the guitar and this unit, set in the INPUT A switch to MIC/LINE You almost certainly wouldn't do any harm by running it in "GUITAR" mode though. You might get some clipping/distortion if the signal is too loud, in which case you'd either turn down the output on the Sansamp, or reduce the Tascam input's "TRIM" control. Quote
Jazz M Posted January 23, 2021 Author Posted January 23, 2021 Thanks Martin, you've answered my next question as well, I wasn't sure whether it should be 'guitar' or 'line' mode, that's really appreciated! Quote
