Vintage Trace Elliot Brochures

I scavenged the internet and found  some gems.
Thought I'd share.

First up: Mk V

Then there was the remarkable Series 6, including the mighty Valve series.

The 1200-12, 600-12 etc. range. These are maybe not so vintage and not as widely loved as the earlier Made in U.K. series but still I thought I'd include these.

I'm still hunting for the SMX series and the one after that (AH300-12, AH500-12 with the harmonic emphasis circuit and valve distortion).
If you have these brochures please do share. If you have hardcopies, I own an A4 format flatbed scanner so could turn these into pdf and jpg.

Those recommended setups are something else. Though nothing for me looks more impractical than a 4x10 combo. 

I think used to have the V1 version of the Peavey era brochure, before production shipped to the USA. It’s either in the attic or lost. 
 

I would love to see the V-type brochure as I have never seen them.

I was just searching the wayback machine website for Trace Elliot history.

The 2001-2003 version of the site, hosted by Gibson, has the 12- and 7 band (AH1000-12, AH500-12, AH300-12 etc.), V-Type series and Commando combos. I tried to scrape everything I could but all the pdf's that used to be on there are sadly not available.

Now hitting the 2005-2008 website...

Edit: 2005-2008 is AH1000-12 with the ugly plastic green light rims. I never liked the look of those much although the cabs from that era look stunning.

So to get things historically in perspective:

Eighties: Mk II, Mk V. I have not seen any others.
Early nineties: Series 6 and Valve series (Hexa, Quatra, Twin).
Mid nineties: SMX, SMC, BLX combo. Kaman era. (bought the company in '92).
Early 2000's: 12 band series with Tube overdrive, harmonic emphasis circuit. Commando combos, V-Type series. Gibson era. (bought the company in '98).
2005-2008: 12 band series with the plastic looking front. AH1000-12 etc. Early Peavey era. (bought the company in '05).
2011-2015: URL changed from trace-elliot.co.uk to traceelliot.com. AH1200-12 etc. 2nd coming of the Peavey lineup.

Clive Button came into the picture from 1985, originally for the MP11 but his designs continued all the way up until the Gibson era.
I do not know if Clive had any part in the Gibson era amplifiers. His website says he worked with Trace Elliot on a freelance basis until 1997.
1997 is where I believe he started work on the Ashdown ABM amps, with Mark Gooday, innit?

OMG...proper gear porn. Back in the day, I worked every hour I could in a Sheffield steelworks to own some of this gear featured.

To think I gigged in a Workingman's Club over many years with a AH350 and TWO, yes two 4 x 10 cabs, hauling them up flights of stairs all around Yorkshire and the North East. Massive overkill....but it looked good lol.

Many thanks for sharing and all the great (and not so great) memories its brought back!

They are quite exciting brochures. They do make you want to look and read them and possibly aspire to put one on your shopping list!

Every trace rig I heard in the 00s sounded great.

I have a couple that aren't listed here, an SMX one and a rather rare one for the MkIV series.

I never knew that Trace did a 2x18 cabinet.   Fantastic. Impractical but fantastic.

Here's the one covering the SMX. It also shows the GP7 (still Series 6 at this time) and some of the Valve series.

There's another brochure that came after this that covers the SM range along with the SMX range.  I'll sort that one tomorrow. 😉

I loved the 12 band heads of these. When Peavey pulled out of the UK, the Bass Centre did a fire sale of the amps and cabs from this range. I remember it was £250 for thr 4x10 brand new. Was insane, but the weight put me off.
