Bethan
I'm trying to work out if there's any value to my late uncle's bass on behalf of my aunt. Having had a closer look, it appears to be a bit of a Frankenstein. Can any of you knowledgeable guys help? Here's a link to the photos of it https://www.icloud.com/photos/#0mjMAdViLYzFz9kp5ZGU9VIZA Thanks so much
Steve Browning
John Birch was a respected guitar builder etc in the '70s. He made Brian May's first copy guitar. The pickup appears to be a DiMarzio and the decal has been chopped. A picture of the heel of the neck would be good. The neck will have some markings on it. Superficially, it looks to be a 57/58 era Precision.
Bethan
We had a good look and there don't appear to be any markings on there at all. That's interesting about John Birch though, thank you

Steve Browning
The codes on the pot shows it to be a CTS 1960 pot. The coding is 137 followed by the year (two digits) and then the week. I can't make out the week. Serial number is 60/61.
