ash
I like the look of this - don’t know if the price is good or anything about the company but it looks good....for a relic type bass. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bluesman-Vintage-Deville-Bass-Guitar-With-Fender-Hard-Case/324465110740?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Edited January 26, 2021 by ash
Happy Jack
I don't do relics, especially unconvincing ones - that upper bout? Eurgh! And why couldn't he rout the pickup sockets to be the same shape as the pickups? Ah well ... each to his own.
Woodinblack
For that price you could probably get a new one that wasn't so worn out! 1
ash
I take your point about the pickup rout but I like the overall design, different take on your classic Fender. I would not go anywhere near this at that price. To like the look of something is very different from wanting to purchase it however. 13 minutes ago, Happy Jack said: I don't do relics, especially unconvincing ones - that upper bout? Eurgh! Bassassin
Apart from the ruined finish & janky-looking headstock that's quite cool. Oh - and the price, an enterprising bodger could knock that up as a bitsa for under £300, no sweat. And route the pickups a bit better.
troubadour
+1 on liking the look of it. Watching the video the seller refers to, the pickguard is optional. Without it the pickups get chrome rings. So the routing is explained if not excused!

The bass reminds me of those ‘Robin Ranger’ branded US/MIJ basses you used to see in US Bass Player magazine years ago. I liked the look of those too.
