beerdragon
I'm thinking of changing from my Trace rig to an Ampeg combo, nothing wrong with it sound wise but its not doing my back any good. anyone had any experience with this combo? leschirons
A mate of mine has the 100 watt 1 x 15 version of that and it weighs a f***ing ton. Pick it up in the shop before you pay for it. Sounds great though. May be worth checking out the lightweight Genz Benz stuff. Bass Direct had some really good deals on those and then just pick up a 2x10 or a 1x15. chris_b
In my opinion, the Ampeg combo is very heavy and not very loud or clear. Is your "trace rig" a combo or head and cab? If your back is causing trouble you really should be looking at neo cabs.
beerdragon
I have a 300watt amp a TE 4x10 and a Te 1x15, and happy with sound i'm getting. but its always in the back of my mind that its all a bit too much for the type of venues we play, IE pubs etc. so i was thinking of down sizing without compromising my sound, i noticed the weight of the combo after posting and realise its not exactly light. i would hate to get rid of my Trace rig and buy this only to be disapointed with it. guess i will have to try one out first. chris_b
Hi, do you have to take 2 cabs? If you can just use the 4x10 it would save your back a bit. I would check out some neo 4x10 cabs (my pref) or 2x12's.
