I play a couple of Metro Express fives with my band - a J/J and a P/J.

Which begs the question, why do

I have a couple of more expensive four strings (MM Sabre & Klos Apollo) and a pair of very capable five strings (MM StingRay 5 and SKC Bogart 5) sitting at home?

Sometimes I think I need my head checked. But then again I've always sold basses if I need the money for something else.

If you're buying a bass for investment purposes then you're not a bass player.

I know two bass players who have instruments they gig and have also bought basses as an investment, they are both most definitely bass players.

I stand by my statement. Controversial, sure. But the point remains - a bass is supposed to be played. Not put in a glass cabinet.

I do understand that aspect, I play all of the ones that I`ve bought as investments, I just don`t rehearse or gig with them.

I have hoped to get money back on every second hand bass I've bought.  I guess I'm not a bass player then :(
