Lozz196
It is possible to both be a bassist and buy basses/instruments as investments.
dub_junkie
I play a couple of Metro Express fives with my band - a J/J and a P/J. Which begs the question, why do I have a couple of more expensive four strings (MM Sabre & Klos Apollo) and a pair of very capable five strings (MM StingRay 5 and SKC Bogart 5) sitting at home? Sometimes I think I need my head checked. But then again I've always sold basses if I need the money for something else.

I know two bass players who have instruments they gig and have also bought basses as an investment, they are both most definitely bass players.
Frank Blank
I've moved on the two Rob Allen basses and now exclusively play two @Jabba_the_gut basses, they are perfect for the music we play so they get gigged.
Supernaut
I stand by my statement. Controversial, sure. But the point remains - a bass is supposed to be played. Not put in a glass cabinet.

I have hoped to get money back on every second hand bass I've bought. I guess I'm not a bass player then
