JohnSlade07
Does anyone know of any blues jams in Kent? I feel the need to escape the "horror" of my function band and return to my "roots" man. Cheers.
JohnSlade07
Obviously a thriving blues scene in the Kent delta then lol!

Trade your Bass in for a pair of pointy shoes with bells on the end, and a nice pair of white tights. Much better than " i woke up this morning"...... BigBeefChief
There's a Jam night every other Tuesday at The Punch & Judy in Tonbridge (there's one tomorrow). Don't know what it's like as I've never been. Might be worth phoning first? It's a half decent little boozer though.
Mrs Tinman
Are blues jams anything like jim-jams? I like stripey ones

NickThomas
There's one every wednesday at Wadhurst. Not solely blues, but a fair bit of. Forgotten the name of the pub but it's right in the high street. Also depending on where you are in Kent, you could take yourself to one of Robin Bibi's blues jams in Kingston and Carshalton. Hector
There are a couple of open mic nights in Canterbury, one at the carpenter's arms and another at orange street music club. Not sure how frequently they happen though.

doctorbass
Try "crossing the border" to Essex - Tue nights at the Essex arms in Brentwood, the Hot Hob Jam - some wicked blues musicians get in there.
JohnSlade07
"Crossing the border" to Essex! I live in Planet Thanet mate we consider a trip to Canterbury to be a major undertaking. Thanks again everyone. I'll chase up those ones in Canterbury.

Its funny what we think of as a long way for gigs etc. I have some friends in a band in Texas, and they think nothing of driving 100-150 miles for a regular bar gig, to be paid a lot less than pub bands here demand (quite often just for tips)!! Im not slating John - we're all like it. Mind you, we have got some choice traffic/roads/fuel costs to contend with........i would be lucky to get out of London by road in time for a gig during the week!!
