Delberthot
I finally got round to opening up the back of my 1212L to find out what drivers were concealed inside. At first glance there's hee haw except 8ohms written on each driver then I saw a Schroeder sticker but that's it. One thing I thought was that these are the first speakers I have seen with screw in terminals. I haven't seen Eminence or Celestions with this. Can anyone identify what the make and model of these drivers is. There's a shiny penny for the winner* *Penny may be substituted for a weekend for two in February. alexclaber
Looks like an Eminence DeltaLite II 2512. Alex
Delberthot
Your right, it looks exactly like one of those. http://www.eminence.com/pdf/deltaliteII2512.pdf One thing I can't work out though is that my cab is quoted as being 800w - but these are 250w drivers. Delberthot
They certainly are. Doesn't really matter what it says on the back, as long as it is loud enough for me without farting, which this is.

Alex
You can't easily tell a 2512 from a 3012, and they very well could be 3012 OEMs. Those have only been available for about 6 months, so if older they're 2512s. While the stock 3012 is rated 450 watts OEM drivers aren't rated as high. Not that they aren't as good, but Eminence only does full bore Klippel testing on their in-line models, so OEM versions that haven't been as thoroughly torture tested are more conservatively rated. Delberthot
I've had it since June 2008. I think it is what you call a Mk II model. If I was to, say, build my own version of this - would a 3012 perform better in the same sized cab? dave_bass5
I got my 1212L (new) in June 2008 as well. I guess mine uses the newer drivers though as this is what mine look like. There doesnt seem to be any markings anywhere on them though. Just after i got mine one of the speakers started making a rasping noise so i got a replacement one. This too was the same type. Im hoping i can fix this and put it in to a small 1x12 box, just for quiet use at work.

Some of the specs are very different http://www.eminence.com/proaudio_speaker_d...mp;SUB_CAT_ID=3 Edited March 23, 2009 by Delberthot
dave_bass5
Yeah. Supposedly the Celestion's give the 1212L a more traditional sound. Ive not been able to compare mine with anything other than my 1210R with the 10" disconnected.
