fretmeister Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 (edited) Guitar to start. Pete Thorn's vid is expected later today as well. I'll keep updating this post as they appear on youtube. Hopefully be some bass ones soon. Sounding very good though! EDIT: Edited February 4, 2021 by fretmeister Quote
Higgie Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Pretty impressed with that. Everything except the octave sounded pretty good I thought! Quote
fretmeister Posted January 30, 2021 Author Posted January 30, 2021 Tom Quayle's guitar demo (Ye gods that guy picks cleaner than Paul Gilbert does!) Quote

For some reason the octave effects (and other pitches) seem very difficult to get right in modellers. Helix has only just cracked it after 5 years. They seem to be very DSP heavy. Quote
Skybone Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 It'll be interesting to hear/see some more bass demo's. Quote
dannybuoy Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 He didn’t really isolate the octaver to give it a fair shot, but at least it sounded like there was no perceptible delay and it tracked well, which is a good start! Quote

That's fair enough, and I agree, the tracking seemed good and it didn't sound bad. For me though, I'd like a bit more control over the tone of the octave. A modeller of this power I would've expected to have either a couple of different octave pedal models, or more control over the stock octave sound. Quote
therealting Posted February 1, 2021 Posted February 1, 2021 I’m still waiting for something that cleanly isolates the lowest note played and then replicates it an octave lower, for when o play skinny-string on my own. I had high hopes for the OC5, but from what I’ve heard it’s not great at this. Hoping they crack it on this or something at some point. Quote
Crawford13 Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 From the videos I have watch the rotary switches worry me, they don't look like the will stand the test of time, you can see a little too side to side movement for my liking. I think I will be sticking to my helix for a while yet... Quote
fretmeister Posted February 12, 2021 Author Posted February 12, 2021 Erik's bass demo - 5 presets, 5 basses Quote

I think Neural talked about this in one of their early videos Quote

Crawford13 Posted February 13, 2021 Posted February 13, 2021 I hope I'm wrong about them, it's just the side to side movement (not rotary😂) that I've seen in videos that concerns me. But I'm sure I'm probably wrong... I usually am. Quote
jimfist Posted February 14, 2021 Posted February 14, 2021 The capture feature is killer for replicating pedal settings for tone/dirt/drive/fuzz. I can see this being a total game-changer in the modeling-fx world. https://youtu.be/3TtPBgbUimA Quote
