Maude
I really, really like these. But I really, really, really want a white one. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hayman-4040-1975-Vintage-UK-Made-Bass-Guitar-/303857451975?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
oldslapper
Not liking the wire peaking out from under scratch plate, for a bass that’s been well looked after. But yes a white one would be nice!
Maude
I didn't notice that to be honest, I was too busy checking out my reflection in the jack plate. I'm guessing that's what he means by "replaced pick up" as the pickups look genuine, but the jack plate is a new piece of mirrored acrylic. It's still got the headstock badge though, they've usually fallen out by now, although it's been out as it's in on the wonk.
prowla
£1k is a bit too much for me.
Paul S
I had one in the mid noughties. Sold it for £180. And it had a NOS perspex bridge that I managed to track down.

But I'd be happy to £180. 😁

EssentialTension
I had a cherryburst 4040 for which I paid £115 with a hard case in 1974. That would have been the best part of a month's wages.

Don't think I haven't thought about it. If I were to get one I'd prefer an original white one though, so that the finish had the same amount of aging as the neck and hardware.
