CalDeep Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 Hey! I have the old school silver face Mesa Wallabout 300 head. Rack ears for them are like rocking horse todd, Mesa now have the WD800 which looks to have pretty compatible dimensions. I was wondering if anyone out there with a walkabout has tried the WD800 rack ears on it? From photos they look like the mounting holes are similar but thought it was worth putting it out there before buying. Quote
Steve Browning Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 Hi I have a Walkabout and TT-800, which uses the same set of rack ears. They don't seem to fit - the screws are in the wrong place. 1 Quote
Steve Browning Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 The two amps are slightly different widths also. 1 Quote
CalDeep Posted February 3, 2021 Author Posted February 3, 2021 Exactly what I needed to know, its a shame they wont fit the walkabout! Quote
CalDeep Posted February 3, 2021 Author Posted February 3, 2021 Theres an 8th on an inch in it apparently. Thought it might budge. Really appreciate you checking that out dude. Quote
agedhorse Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 Wait a minute, that's not true at all. The amps are the same width, the holes are in the same locations. The rack ears are identical, with the exception of the size of the screw holes which are about 0.1mm smaller in diameter. The holes on the rack ears can be opened up with a suitable size drill bit. Steve Browning Posted February 4, 2021 Posted February 4, 2021 Apologies. I looked at the width on the spec and assumed the final positioning of the rack bolts would be off. 1 Quote
